SOPHIE BRUNT

Sophie Brunt has grown up in the area. She is currently a local primary school teacher. She has had a passion for swimming from a young age having trained with and captained Wimbledon Dolphins Swimming Club. As a teenager she competed in triathlon where she found her love for open water swimming. From there she qualified as an STA swimming teacher and coach and has subsequently worked at many local swim schools. Having trained GB triathletes and converted many to open water swimming, she is aware of the demand in the local area. Sophie has swam in many open water events herself including the 10k swimmers marathon at Dorney Lake and is tackling the English Channel in 2020.

“As an avid swimmer (indoor, open water and qualified teacher and coach), I believe our local area lacks the facilities to encourage everyone to participate in such an amazing sport. Wimbledon Park Lake could be the answer to this problem and a way in which to inspire even more people”.
